Hi,

It probably will not have escaped your notice that John Bercow published his report on Tuesday, the 'mainstream' aspects of it got into the news. The report also incorporates lots of recommendations across the range of speech/language/communication needs, including recommendations on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

The Bercow report is here:
http://www.dfes.gov.uk/bercowreview/

The Communication Matters response, summary of points for AAC (very useful) and other info is on the CM site (right hand side under news):
http://www.communicationmatters.org.uk/

This looks positive I think, CM will continue to work to  ensure the recommendations get implemented including consulting with the DFES and John Bercow (who is presenting a plenary at this years CM conference). Any pressure people can exert now to get the government to actually implement the recommendations would be good!

Cheers,

Simon
