http://nwm.org.uk/stoke/Visiting.html.
Meeting point: meet at the Boat Inn at 12.45 p.m.
You may also like to include a visit to the museum as part of the day. The museum is housed in an 1840s corn mill and features examples of canal painted-ware, clothing worn by boat men and women and a rare Weighing Machine used to calculate how much cargo each boat could carry. From 1 June a collection of photographs from the Stoke Bruerne archive will also be on display. Details on visiting the museum, including admission prices, can be found online at
http://nwm.org.uk/stoke/StokeBruerneHome.html .
Lunch Arrangements
Lunch is available on the barge for a cost of £10.00. This will be a 'working lunch'. Alternatively you are welcome to make your own arrangements prior to the meeting.
Would like to attend?
There are forty places available. Please confirm attendance to me by Tuesday 8 July. Please also confirm:
- If you are planning to have lunch on the barge or if you are making your own arrangements;
- Any dietary requirements
Whilst East Midlands members have priority, non-members are also welcome to join us for the boat ride. This will also be a great opportunity for any new members or individuals who are interested in joining to come along to a meeting, and find out a little bit more about the region.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions at all.
Regards,
Peter Lester
Secretary, East Midlands Region
