Hello all,

I have been doing random effects analyses and I know that this allows me to generalize to the population, I also know that I am supposed to use at least “12-ish” subjects for this analysis so that I end up with enough power.

I am trying to find more details on why it is 12 subjects.  I looked at various papers: “how many subjects constitute a study, etc…

But I still can’t figure out why it is 12.

How do 12 subjects give me enough power?

Is there a formula I can’t find?

Please keep it lay J

Your help is much appreciated

Thank You

Uta
