*** with apologies for cross posting *** THE CLOSING DATE FOR THIS YEAR'S AWARDS IS FAST APPROACHING - 16 JUNE The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) is pleased to announce two international Awards which recognise significant achievement in the field of learned and professional publishing. The winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 11 September, which this year forms part of the ALPSP International Conference (www.alpspconference.org). The closing date for receipt of applications is 16 June 2008. The awards are: ALPSP AWARD FOR PUBLISHING INNOVATION - in recognition of a truly innovative approach to any aspect of publication. Applications will be judged on their originality and innovative qualities, together with their utility, benefit to their community and long term prospects. ALPSP AWARD FOR BEST NEW JOURNAL - open to any journal launched within the past 3 years. The judges will consider four main aspects of the journal and its launch: market research, editorial strategy, marketing and commercial success.
