This
is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious GIS Professional with a current
or previous background in Oil & Gas to combine their hands-on technical
skills with their experience of managing a departmental resource including
manpower and budget.
The
main purpose of the job is to develop, maintain and update a corporate
geodatabase which provides an array of geospatial information that underpins the
whole business. This head office
role offers huge scope to encourage and promote the adoption of GIS to an
enthusiastic and receptive team of
users. You will manage and personally become involved in researching, planning,
project managing and delivering geoapplications and data-driven solutions hosted
on the ESRI ArcGIS/ArcSDE platform.
You will be the fulcrum between GIS and the company’s business managers
who are looking for better ways to manage the business of onshore and offshore
oil and gas production and associated pipeline infrastructure, giving you the
opportunity to demonstrate your flair and innovation.
The
ideal candidate must be confident in their ability to build an industry leading
GIS capability and be able to demonstrate a broad yet detailed understanding of
both multi-format geodata management and geodetic tools. Experience of data integration,
particularly building applications from diverse data sources is essential.
Preference
will be given to candidates who offer in-depth experience of ESRI ArcGIS and
some associated extensions such as Spatial Analyst or Geostatistical
Analyst. Advanced skills in Access
and Excel are essential together with proven project management
experience.
