Nationalism and Ethnic Politics
One year fixed-term, full-time position

The School of Politics and Sociology is highly rated for its teaching and research. This one year post (from 1st September 2008) is to teach primarily in the areas of nationalism and ethnic politics.

You will be able to teach confidently on the core courses for the MSc/MRes in Nationalism with Ethnic Conflict as well as part of the undergraduate module on The Formation of Modern Societies.

You will be educated to degree level and have ideally completed, or be near to completion of, a PhD. You will be able to contribute to the intellectual life of the School, primarily through engagement with the research community in the School and beyond. The post will also involve some administrative responsibilities directly related to the courses taught.


Salary: £31,907 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.


This job is full-time and fixed-term for one year. The salary quoted above is inclusive of London allowance. The initial salary award will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period.
