Not sure I follow your objections Rupert. What
if we called the adverts a more accurate 'notices' (as advert seems to imply
selling for big profits and no one here is doing that). To be alerted or
notified of a new publication, reading event or new work posted on websites is
surely a good thing. 'Exclusivity' ? - I don't understand where you get
that from.
Cheers,
G.

Hi Ian and Peter
I'm taken aback that you think - now rejoined by
Geraldine - that adverts are one of the
most useful things these sites offer.
My problem is not with adverts - links to excellent
works and all. Yet, without context, who are you adverising to? Without a
growing subscriber list, who are you advertising to? Forgive me for saying
but this smacks of exclusivity.

Thanks for that, Peter.

Subject: New book of
William Wantling poems from Tangerine Press
[Apologies for yet another advert - but I think this one -
on behalf of Tangerine Press - is worth it)
The first
book of William Wantling's poems for over 30 years is now available
from Tangerine Press.
