National University of Ireland, Galway School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics Lecturer (Above the Bar) in Statistics Applicants are invited for the above lecturing position in Statistics. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, undertake relevant administrative duties and contribute to the research profile of the School. Candidates should have a PhD in Statistics awarded. Excellent teaching ability is required and appropriate lecturing experience at University level is desirable. Ideally candidates should have experience of applying for research funding and have been involved in course design and development. Applications are welcome from candidates in all areas of statistics, although preference will be given to those with interests in statistical modelling, including smoothing, random effects and mixture models. A track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals is required and post-doctoral research experience is desirable. The School runs full degree programmes in both the College of Science and the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies and is also the major contributor to the denominated degrees in Mathematical Science/Computer Science and in Financial Mathematics & Economics. At the postgraduate level the School has active masters' and PhD programmes. It also provides service courses in the Science, Engineering and Informatics, and Commerce Faculties.
