Subject: Query about bones used as foundations

Hi Emily,

Last Summer we were excavating behind St Annes Cathedral and uncovered a foundation for an early 19th century building which was almost totally comprised of animal bone (horse and cow long bones and horns), Ruari was good enough to give me a copy of an article written by Eileen about the bone wall from Carrick in Archaeology Ireland and a copy of the BAR article on use of animal bones as building material, I was just wondering if in the intervening period any similar walls have been discovered?  Any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated,

Regards,

Colin
