We have a book project on  conservation & restoration theory for which we are looking for a proof-reader.
 
The logistics of the project are as follows:

Deadline Translation:  15 August 2008
Deadline Proof-reading: 10 September 2008

The translation will be used for an online training course and the  author comments:
 
“Der Kurs befasst sich mit Restaurierungstheorien im Allgemeinen und ist daher nicht spezifisch auf eine Materialrichtung abgestimmt.
Besondere Kenntnisse in Bezug auf Materialien und Vorgehensweisen der Restaurierung einer bestimmten Fachrichtung sind daher nicht unbedingt notwendig.
 
Die Beispiele sind aus dem Bereichen der Wandmalerei, der Tafelmalerei/Gemälde und in geringerem Maße auch der polychromen Skulptur.
 
Meines Erachtens liegt die Herausforderung der Übersetzung in erster Linie in der Wiedergabe der zum Teil sehr komplexen restaurierungs- und kunsttheoretischen Zusammenhänge.“
