We invite students, academics, poets, local community workers, activists, and artists to participate in this unique event – the last in a series of events convened to celebrate 20 years of British scholarship on gender and global politics. Potential issues to explore in tackling the theme of feminism’s global/local future include: the role of feminism in the 21st century; feminism and the contemporary analyses of international politics; the impact of the critical studies of race, postcolonial studies, masculinity studies and queer theory on the feminist study of gender and sex in global politics; how the local and global intertwine, and what new forms of violence have emerged in the 21st century.

·        The conference will include film viewings and art/photographic exhibitions and an associated workshop.

·        It is also anticipated that social events will include a whiskey tasting evening and a ceilidh.
