The Royal Northern College of Music understands research to be integral to the training of musicians in the contemporary world. Alongside musicological research, performance-as-research and composition, the RNCM is committed to the development of empirical and other applied approaches to research into music making.
 
The College seeks to appoint a Research Fellow who will be based in the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and who will contribute to research at the RNCM by conducting and disseminating projects relating to the wide-ranging work of the CETL.
 
It is essential that candidates have a strong or developing research profile that will maintain and enhance CETL research. Of particular interest will be those with expertise and interest in one or more of the following: music perception and cognition, music and health, and music education.
