Reporting to the Associate Director, you will either join the team
assessing the clinical and cost effectiveness of health technologies
(Multiple and Single Technology Appraisals) or the team responsible for
identifying and prioritising topics for the NICE work programme.

You will be taking on some of the toughest challenges in NHS policy
making, within an innovative, evolving organisation that will support
your on-going professional development, and play a pivotal role in the
Appraisal Programme. You will be involved in the selection of topics,
the scoping for an appraisal, liaising with academic and stakeholder
groups, and presenting the evidence base to the Topic Selection
Consideration Panels or the Appraisal Committee.

In addition, you will be advising the Panels and Appraisal Committee of
key technical issues, and drafting the guidance to the NHS.

With skills in health economics, medical statistics, clinical trials,
epidemiology or related areas, you will be an enthusiastic analyst with
a relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g. health economics, public
health, clinical pharmacology, health service research) and an
enthusiasm for technical writing. Critical appraisal, interpretation and
synthesis of healthcare research evidence; along with familiarity with
evidence-based healthcare, methods of health technology assessment and
health economics are essential.

You should demonstrate the ability to analyse diverse complex
information and issues to support decision and policy making; write
clearly and concisely; and work independently to tight deadlines. You
will also be confident presenting on complex issues to large groups;
establishing good working relationships with a range of professionals,
and working flexibly as part of a team.
