FERIDUN ZAIMOGLU

reads from his latest novel "Liebesbrand" - a central European road romance, a story of carnal desire, fear of death, and spirituality.

ZAIMOGLU, b. 1963, gained notoriety with his first book, Kanak Sprak (1995). With subsequent prize-winning novels, inc. Abschaum, German Amok, Leyla and Liebesbrand, + short stories, playscripts, radio, film, tv & press work, he ranks among Germany's most important authors of migrant background and Europe's most important authors of Muslim faith.

The reading is preceded by a talk (in English) on Turkish German literature by the Centre's distinguished guest critic from Munich:
