Visitor Studies Group 10th Anniversary Summer School 2008 
 
Seen but not heard!

Listening to children's voices in visitor studies

 

Children, as both formal and free choice learners, make up a large segment of audiences in museums and living collections. Through a series of presentations and workshops the 2008 VSG Summer School will focus on how to glean and effectively utilise valid and reliable data sourced from children.

Thursday 18th & Friday 19th September 2008

Speakers include:

*	Jocelyn Dodd, Research Centre for Museums and Galleries, University of Leicester
*	Hannah Shepherd - Thinktank, Birmingham's Museum of Science
*	Andrew McIntyre, Morris Hargreaves McIntyre 
*	Visitor Research Unit, Science Museum, London
*	Reinaldo Niebles, Barranquilla Zoo, Colombia
*	Nicola Jagger & Tim Seal, Centre of the Cell, London  

The Summer School will offer a series of workshops across two days and a 'Marketplace of Ideas' on Friday. 

Be part of the first VSG event to be held at a zoo, experience great networking opportunities and take the chance to visit the UK's most popular zoo, with over 1.3 million visitors a year.

The event is ideal for practitioners including evaluators, marketers, exhibition and learning programme developers and students in this field.

Registration:

Members                                 £75 per day or £130 for both days

Members' Concession            £55 per day or £90 for both days

Non Members                         £85 per day or £150 for both days

Non-Members' Concession    £65 per day or £110 for both days

 

Fees include delegate pack, tea & coffee and lunches. 

 

Any delegates wishing to stay until Saturday will be welcome to free admission to 

the Zoo on that day.
