There is some guidance on the jiscmail web site www.jiscmail.ac.uk . However it 
is always a good idea when asking a question from an institution mailbase that 
you work for, to either clear it with your line manager first or have a disclaimer to 
the effect that the contents of your email do not represent that of the institution etc.
