*(5)* *The Balkans and Europe in Crime*
This is the general topic of the *Tenth Cross-Border Crime Colloquium* 
to be held in Beograd (Serbia) from *27 to 29 November 2008*.
Themes for which authors will be invited are (among others):  
§    Corruption and good governance
§    Upperworld criminality: abusing the firm for own profits
§    Underworld economy: (a) smuggling licit goods (VAT and
    excises & counterfeit goods)
§    Underworld economy: (b) smuggling illicit goods (drugs and
 other prohibited substances; human trafficking)
§    Politicians and the business economy: criminal symbiosis
§    Criminal finances: criminal money management and investments
§    Policing crime markets and law enforcement integrity
§    Doing justice: the judicial system.  
The organising board invites you to present a paper related to the 
themes above.  
The Cross-Border Crime Colloquium is an annual event that brings 
together experts on international organised (economic) crime to discuss 
the latest developments in empirical research, legislation and law 
enforcement, with a special geographical focus on Western, Central, and 
Eastern Europe. The Colloquia aim at building bridges in three respects: 
between East and West Europe, between scholars and practitioners, and 
between old and young.
Accommodation is provided free during the time of the Colloquium.
