You'll be after isnull.
Put the field into the report detail section, then right click on it.
Select Expert. Change "Is any value" to "Formula:" then enter this formula:
isnull{fieldname}
Where fieldname would be something like users.forename or somesuch (ie
the tablename.fieldname as is in the database).
