See below Mark - you win the gold star! - it isn't the normal design, but was used for cubing the pieces you would have after dividing the sugar loaf with a sugar-loaf axe, apparently they were easier on the hands and wrists than the usual scissor type design. I have this from the impeccable source of Peter Brears, caught luckily en route from London to Dorset via Leeds!.
