The same is true of Hemerdon Mine near Plymouth. This open pit mine is now owned by Wolf Minerals Ltd. who are based in Australia. I believe that planning permission for the development of a new mine and processing plant etc. is till available on the site. They are about to embark on a full Bankable Feasibility Study to re-open Hemerdon. The first bit of real movement on this site since AMAX of Canada shelved their plans to re-open the mine in the mid 1980s. This must mean that all the current potential new metal mine projects in the UK are either Australian owned or have Australian backing. This must be better than a few years ago when there weren't any potential new metal mine projects in the UK! Hopefully the current access to the above adit workings will remain.
