This fast-growing geospatial solutions
vendor is recruiting a Product Manager to manage a suite of new generation
products. The Product Manager will be responsible for the full product cycle
including for determining the market opportunities and understanding customer
needs in the market place.
The ideal candidate will be educated to
degree standard and have previous experience as a Product Manager within a
business to business environment as well as a strong understanding of
GIS/Spatial technologies and products. You will have excellent organisational
and time management skills with the ability to get on with people at all levels.
Key
responsibilities/duties:
- To develop a winning vision and business plan for
the products. This business plan needs to be grounded in solid market
research, competitive analysis, market planning, customer requirements, user
scenarios, pricing, promotion and the end to end delivery of value to
customers.
- The key challenge for this position is to determine
the strategic path for the products, guiding the product vision, while
delivering the daily product management to keep the client on track to deliver
a high quality solution that meets customer requirements.
- To be the quality leader for products; improving
product management processes and ensuring all products meet criteria before
they are released.
- To create metrics to measure the success of the
product strategy/product management, publish the results against quarterly
targets and summarise the report for the Executive team.
- Manage the entire product line life cycle from
strategic planning to tactical activities.
Personal specification:
- You will ideally have knowledge of the GIS/Spatial
technology market and be ready to provide vision for our products.
- Possess a blend of business and technical skills; a
big-picture vision, and the ability to deliver on that vision.
- Experience of defining solution and product
strategies.
- Experience bringing products to market. You should
have experience bringing the whole product to market (product definition
through launch through end of life) as well as experience managing multiple
product lines.
- Experience in managing relationships with external
customers and software development suppliers.
- Must be a credible team player who can work closely
with the Management Team to move the business forward.
- Superior negotiating, market research, writing and
organisational skills.
