A bit off-topic, but one could also cite Mexican serial killer Gregorio Cárdenas Hernández as the inspiration for Alejandro Jodorowsky's "Santa Sangre," an interesting retelling of "Psycho" with the psychosexual dynamic laid bare on the surface. A film I always recommend to "Psycho" aficionados.
