The Centre for European Studies at Jagiellonian University announces that the deadline for applications to its MA programmes has been extended until May 15.

MA in European Studies/Central and Eastern European Studies, Centre for European Studies, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland

We offer MA degrees focusing on one of two tracks: European Studies or Central and Eastern European Studies.  This is a high–level postgraduate course taught in English. Over the course of two to four semesters of study, students follow core, specialization and optional classes in an array of fields according to their interests, including politics, EU affairs, literature, history, economics and Jewish studies.  Language classes, an MA seminar and a thesis are also elements of the programme.

Double Award Programme MA in European Governance

Applications are also invited to the new Double Award Programme MA in European Governance joint degree programme offered in conjunction with the University of Kent.

This MA is ideal for students wishing to study in two centres of excellence in different parts of Europe – one year is spent in Krakow and the next in Canterbury or vice-versa – and gain an advanced understanding of the EU to deepen their knowledge and to prepare for a career in European affairs. It adopts a multi–disciplinary approach drawing from a wide range of courses in politics, international relations, law, economics and sociology, with particular focus on constitutional design, processes of decision–making, public policy analysis and the role of the EU in the world.

The Centre for European Studies, founded in 1993, also offers Study Abroad programmes taught in English and cooperates in several other MA degree consortia, as well as teaching degree courses in Polish and playing an active role in the academic life of the Jagiellonian University and Krakow. Our MA students enjoy dedicated student services and excellent study facilities and have the chance to participate in study trips around the region.  The Jagiellonian University is the oldest and most prestigious university in Poland and today has 45,000 students across 15 faculties.
