Annual Conference of the Brighton and Sussex Sexualities Network

Call for contributions:

This is the second annual conference of the Brighton and Sussex Sexualities Network (BSSN), an inter-university research network aimed at supporting research (and researchers) who work on issues of sexualities within the universities of Brighton and Sussex, the wider Sussex area, and beyond.

The one-day conference will take place on Wednesday 17th September 2008, and will be hosted by the Universities of Brighton and Sussex.  We are inviting contributions in the form of presentations, discussions, workshops or performances that address research being undertaken in the area of sexualities.

Although the core of the event will be based on the work of researchers from the Universities of Brighton and Sussex, and independent researchers from the wider Sussex area, submissions from outside of the region are welcomed, and links to other research networks and areas actively encouraged.

Contributions are welcomed in any area of sexualities research, which might include:

Arts and Architecture

Development Studies

Education

Health

Humanities

Life Sciences

Management and Information Systems

Media and Cultural Studies

Medical and Health Sciences

Science, Engineering and Technology

Science and Technology Policy

Social Sciences, including all related disciplines and subject fields Sport, leisure and Tourism Studies

Contributions to the conference are welcomed as:

Papers

Workshops

Posters

Installations/performances/screenings

Discussions of personal research focus and agenda and other alternative modes of representing work.

This conference aims to bring together researchers from a range of disciplines so contributions should be designed with a diverse audience in mind. Posters and discussions of research agendas were successful and appreciated last year and we would encourage submissions of this kind as well as other alternative modes.
