The CLP is offering an exciting mid-career placement to work within the Learning and Participation Department of Southbank Centre, to lead the process of strategic thinking, creative exploration and business planning around the future of the Royal Festival Hall Archive. The Collections Associate will research, imagine and plan options for the development of the Archive, within the context of national and international archives and libraries. This unique opportunity allows the ideal candidate to be involved in research, analysis and strategic and project planning for the largest arts centre in the UK.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to translate ideas into practical plans. They will have:

 

• Significant experience of working in a library or archive environment or a role closely linked to these environments

 

• Excellent strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate ideas into practical plans

 

• Desire to explore the possibilities of archives within arts and cultural contexts, including as a creative resource

 

• Passion for contemporary culture and the relationship between recent history and the present day
