David Johnson OBE (1934-2008)

Colleagues and retired colleagues will be very sad to learn that David
Johnson died on Thursday 17 April 2008 just days after being diagnosed
with cancer. David joined the House of Lords Record Office in 1966 and
was Clerk of the Records from 1991-1999. He was active in the Society
of Archivists, was a founder member of the Political Parties and
Parliamentary Archives Group and a member of the Steering Committee of
the equivalent International Council on Archives Group. In retirement
he was Chairman of the Council of the British Records Association from
2000-2004. Others will have known him as an active historian of London.

Details of David's funeral are not yet available but as soon as they are
I will be happy to circulate them off list to anyone who requests them.
