Modelling the relationship between homocysteine and cardiovascular
disease.
Supervisors: John Whittaker and Liam Smeeth

This project will examine the relationship between homocysteine and
cardiovascular disease by the development of statistical models that
allow the integration of multiple sources of evidence regarding this
relationship. Sources of evidence include observational studies,
clinical trials and genetic studies. The project will involve a mix
of statistical modelling and epidemiological work, with the balance
of the two determined by the student's interests and abilities. The
ideal applicant will have a strong statistical background plus an
interest in medical/epidemiological research, but strong candidates
from other backgrounds will also be considered.

Application forms are available from the LSHTM Registry, or from:
www.lshtm.ac.uk/prospectus/howto/index.html#ResearchApplicationForms.
