RAS NAM 2008: 31 March to 4 April
The Royal Astronomical Society National Astronomy Meeting 2008
(NAM2008), in conjunction with the UK Solar Physics (UKSP) and
Magnetosphere Ionosphere and Solar-Terrestrial (MIST) Meetings, will be
held in Belfast from Monday 31st March to Friday 4th April.
NAM2008 will be hosted by the Astrophysics Research Centre and the
Centre for Theoretical Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics at Queen's
University Belfast, which will be celebrating its centenary as a
University.
The scientific programme, along with information about the conference
including travel and accommodation, is available at

RAS JOBS LIST
The RAS has offered a jobs list since 2002. There are over 1000 active
members on this list, so it is worth advertising your vacancies
- and it is FREE. In 2007 there have been at least 44 job
postings on the list (including 24 in the UK and 14 in Europe), so it
is worth registering and checking it out.

books, attractions, and journals (including free access to on-line
editions of all RAS journals):
Of course, RAS Fellows also enjoy free admission to all Specialist
Discussion meetings.
In addition they have the use, subject to availability, of the new
100-seater lecture theatre and the 30-seater Council room in the RAS's
refurbished Burlington House premises, as well as a superb, and
comfortable, fellows room (especially useful as a London base for
out-of-town members).
There is a continuing special offer whereby full-time students studying

first year's contribution of only £1 when they agree to pay by direct
debit or by continuous credit-card payment. (There are no age
restrictions).
