Well haven't the last few weeks been a bit of an eye opener as to how valuble occupational health is viewed by not only the RCN but also the government ... ?

 

First we saw the plan to withdraw funding for Access to Work for public sector applicants and now I hear that Developing Patient Partnerships (the Health Ed Charity) is being forced to close because Dept of Health funding has been withdrawn (see: http://www.dpp.org.uk/en/1/closurepress.qxml).

 

Am I the only one confused by the plan to return long term incapacity benefit claimants to work/keep people healthy and in work but at the same time withdrawing supportive/enabling mechanisms?

 

What will be next?
