medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
Meg
Quite a number have been printed, more especially from the late medieval period. I recall that Sir W H St John Hope edited quite a number - a trawl through the list of his publications - I think it was printed with a memoir by OUP - might prove helpful. Quite a number of Edwardian inventories survive and some have been printed- eg:
The Edwardian Inventories for Huntingdonshire, edited by Mrs S C Lomas, Longmans Green, 1906. (Alcuin Club collections, VII)
The Alcuin Club also published those for Oxfordshire edited by Rose Graham in:
The Chantry Certificates for Oxfordshire and The Edwardian Inventories for Oxfordshire, edited by Rose Graham, A R Mowbray & Co, 1920 (Alcuin Club Collections XXIII).
Those for London were edited by H B WAlters: London Churches at the REformation, with an account of their contents. SPCK, 1939.
Those for Lincolnshire were edited by Edward Peacock: English Church Furniture, Ornaments and Decorations at the time of the Reformation, as Exhibited in a List of the Good destroyed in certain Lincolnshire Churches, AD 1566. John Camden Hotton, 1866.
Addenda and supplementary mtl. was later published in Lincolnshire Notes & Queries, vol 14, 1917.
Maurice F Bon edited the inventories for St George's Chapel, Windsor, in:
THe Inventories of St George's Chapel Windsor Castle, 1384-1667. Oxley & Sons for the Dean & Chapter, 1947.
Norfolk inventories of the time of Edward III have been edited by:
Dom Aelred WAtkin: Inventories of Church Goods temp. Edward III, Norfolk Record Society, Vol XIX, pt 1, 1947; Pt II 1948.
Also, quite a nmuber are listed in the bibliography of Duffy: Stripping the Altars.
