medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture

Thank you Jim. I quite like the idea of Laon cathedral. I need to check
whether any of the exiles ended up there. One would think that the St
Nicholas church should be easier to identify as rarer. Any ideas anyone?

If you think that it could be any of the Marian shrines, I would be grateful
for any suggestions. I went all the way through Newcourt's Repertorium and
did not think it could be any of the parish churches in the London diocese
but may have missed any extra parochial churches. Apart from his diocese,
Hill's home connections seem to have been with the diocese of Salisbury and
he held prebends in St David's and Chichester so if there is anyone who
knows those dioceses well, they may have further ideas.

It may also be that I am seeing an 'L' where I should see an 'H' or
something else. You (or anyone else?) would not care to look at the will to
check my palaeography would you - I can send it off-list as an attachment?

best wishes
Rosemary
