Following a short AGM,  Cilip in Surrey are delighted to be able to welcome as their  keynote speaker, Euan Semple.

Euan Semple is an independent advisor  on social computing for business. He is a well known writer, thinker and  inspirational public speaker on the subject.

Euan pioneered the use of weblogs,  wikis and online forums while at the BBC, and his work there continues to  enable staff to work more effectively and more collaboratively  across the entire organisation. While at the BBC Euan also worked on their  award winning leadership programme and gained unparalleled experience in how  to engage and inspire people with the possibilities of social computing as a  business tool.
In addition to his 21 years at the BBC, Euan says “I have  had five years of unparalleled experience learning how to make the most of  this wired-up world of work and how businesses can prepare themselves for the  challenges and the opportunities it represents.”

Our second speaker, Andrew Barker  from City College, Norwich, will be talking about his practical experience of  a project to introduce social networking and other technologies in an  educational context.

This is a free, open meeting and all those  involved in Library & Information work, including those in surrounding  areas, are very welcome to come along. The Cilip in Surrey AGM will take place  from 7.00 – 7.15, with the Social Computing talks starting at 7.15.The Library  is 5 minutes walk from Woking Station and car parking is available in the town  centre car parks adjacent to the library.
