Dear List Watchers,
I am led to believe by, i.a., the man chiefly responsible, that the 2007 facsimile of the RGS Library’s unicum 1557 Italian MS navigation manual by Battista Testarossa (with a MS chart on vellum) is finally in production and commercially available. A ‘Technical commentary’ has been kindly provided by Richard Pflederer FRGS, who has – amongst other things - previously compiled four invaluable and detailed listings of portolan charts and atlases in collections in Europe and USA [see, e.g., the ‘Imago Mundi Bibliography’ over a half-dozen years].
