The following vacancy will shortly be appearing on www.jobs.ac.uk --------------------------------------------------------------------- LIBRARIAN (CATALOGUING AND ENQUIRIES) JERWOOD LIBRARY OF THE PERFORMING ARTS TRINITY COLLEGE OF MUSIC PART-TIME (14 HOURS PER WEEK) £25,038 - £30,022 p.a., pro-rata The Jerwood Library of the Performing Arts, which supports teaching, learning, performance and research at Trinity College of Music, is seeking a Librarian to join its small team of professional staff in assisting the Head Librarian in the planning, organisation, development and promotion of Library services. Key responsibilities (jointly with two other Librarians) include the cataloguing of printed music, AV material and books and, with one other part-time Librarian, you will also be responsible for the specialised library enquiry service. A graduate (preferably with a degree or equivalent in music), with a postgraduate qualification in librarianship, you will have at least one year’s experience of working in a library, preferably in an academic and/or music library. With an excellent knowledge of music (and music reference sources), you will have strong communication, interpersonal and IT skills as well as a demonstrable ability to work as part of a small team. Experience of cataloguing using MARC21 is essential, and experience of cataloguing music and AV material is highly desirable. Experience of enquiry work, teaching information skills, and a reading knowledge of at least one European language would be an advantage.
