I'm afraid my enthiusiasm is tempered by the fact that listed buildings online has still not been updated - hence buildings listed four years or so ago in Walsall do not appear. Accordingly if you were to recommend this source to anyone you would still have to advise them to check with the local authority for recent listings. What we need is an up to date online resource with a policy for update within a named period of a new listing.

Subject: Listed Buildings Online now available via Heritage Gateway - Should we spread the word?

Dear All,

I was delighted to discover today that Listed Buildings Online has now
become available to all via the Heritage Gateway, as was promised a few
months ago.
I am keen to spread the word to all those who up to now have had to come to
me for this information. Is it OK to start advertising this, or is this a
"soft" launch, with plans to advertise it when the Heritage Gateway is
confident that its is working as intended?

In the meantime, congratulations to those who have worked to make this
possible.
