My client designs, builds and integrates spatially-referenced Decision Support Systems for mission-critical projects throughout the world.

 

They are industry leaders within their sector of the geospatial industry through product innovation built upon state of the art web delivery mechanisms.

As part of their planned growth they are able to offer an entry level career opportunity to a graduate trainee who possesses strong theoretical software engineering skills hopefully but not essentially with a foundational knowledge of ESRI’s software development tools and extensions.


What skills must I possess?

YOU MUST ENJOY SYSTEMS AND PROGRAMMING. You should be excited by the opportunity to work with up to date ESRI development tools and methods, in particular ArcObjects and the ArcGIS Server platform.  You should have some grasp of the .Net languages, preferably C# or Visual Basic.

 

Your career direction should be towards building and delivering secure, real time web-enabled applications that incorporate geospatial database technology, preferably Oracle and/or MS SQL Server.

What qualifications do I need?

A first or second degree in an IT or Software Engineering discipline. Some practical experience of GIS is preferred but training can be provided through the client’s mentoring policy.
