*****************************************
The British Universities Film & Video Council (BUFVC) is delighted to
announce that Roger Graef OBE will give the Learning on Screen Awards
2008 during the Learning on Screen Conference dinner at the National
Science Learning Centre York on the evening of 18th March 2008.
*****************************************
Roger Graef is one of the UK’s leading documentary producers. He is
well-known for his pioneering ‘fly-on-the-wall’ observational
documentary filmmaking through THE SPACE BETWEEN WORDS (BBC/PBS) and
his later work including the DECISION series in the 1970s, THE STATE
OF THE NATION, and A LAW IN THE MAKING (for Granada Television).

In the 1990s Roger’s documentary POLICE, made with the Thames Valley
Police was recognised as being influential in changing police
practice in the treatment of rape victims. Roger’s films have been
distinctive in the way they have revealed the day-to-day operations
of otherwise inaccessible organisations – ministries, boardrooms,
police, courts, prisons and probation services.

His company Films of Record (http://www.filmsofrecord.com/index.htm)
he has an outstanding track-record in the production of influential
and ground-breaking documentary film and television. In 2003 Roger
received a BAFTA Award as producer of FELTHAM SINGS and in 2004 he
was given a BAFTA Fellowship.

NB There are still spaces available for those who wish to register
for the Learning on Screen Conference. A few dinner-only tickets are
also still available for the evening of 18th March.
