BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE TRUST
ARCHIVE ASSISTANT – FOUR MONTHS - ONE POST
37 hours a week @ £7.93 per hour

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust based at the Heritage Motor 
Centre in Gaydon near Warwick, holds the largest Archive in the world of 
historic documentation and photographic material relating to the British 
Motor Industry.  Following a serious flood in October 2006 the Archive 
Department is now looking for an assistant to help implement our long-term 
recovery programme. 
 
The post-holders will be required to assist with:
1.	Reboxing and relabelling displaced materials
2.	Relocation of boxes as part of a modular programme of cleansing 
and shelving  replacement (this will involve contact with damaged 
materials and lifting heavy boxes)
3.	Re-integration of displaced material into the core Archive 
collections
4.	Extensive redocumentation onto computer catalogue
 
Desirable qualities and experience:
1.	Prior experience of computer cataloguing
2.	Attention to detail and accuracy
3.	Ability to work as part of a team
4.	Flexibility to carry out tasks in a variety of working conditions

It will be necessary to have your own vehicle as there is very limited 
public transport to the Heritage Motor Centre which is situated in a rural
