Nordic Centre for Alcohol and Drug Research (NAD) kindly invites
applications for the European research training course "Theories and
Images of Addiction" in Espoo, Finland, October 18-24, 2008.
The course is mainly intended for PhD students, but both master students
and post doc researchers can apply.
Professor Pekka Sulkunen, Department of Sociology, University of
Helsinki, serves as the academic course leader.

The research course will give introductions to the main addiction
theories, historical overviews, insights in the uses of the addiction
concept, of behavioural theories and different diagnostic practices, but
will also give concrete guidance to publishing addiction science for
early-stage researchers. The course consists of lectures, workshops and
group exercises.

Deadline for applications is May 16th, 2008
