You could always let people run the extracted files from a USB flash drive and use a GPO to exclude the cache folder from roaming and delete it on logoff.

I’ve had a little play with Second Life and have found that you don’t actually need to install it. It will just run from the extracted files – which may help with the installation/updating issues.

However, it would seem that the default location for the cache is the user’s Application Data. Just logging in dumps 100MB into this. The default maximum is 500MB. This is of concern if you have roaming/redirected profiles. This location can be changed on a per user basis but I haven’t found a way to change the default.
