& Coia Archive
Salary c £20,458 per annum pro rata
Fixed term contract: 10 months 0.5 FTE;
Consideration may be given to applicants wishing to undertake the post
full-time over 5 months
The architectural firm of Gillespie,
Kidd and Coia is known for the distinctive character of its post World War II
buildings. The archive of this groundbreaking firm was gifted to Glasgow School
of Art in 2001 and is now the focus of a Heritage Lottery Funded project, which
aims to celebrate the work of the firm and promote access to its archive.
The Glasgow School of Art is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated
project archivist to continue the appraisal and cataloguing of this archive to
international standards using CALM software. The project archivist will also be
expected to work closely with other professionals to identify and assist with
the conservation of items from the archive. Applicants should be educated to
degree level and hold, or be working towards, a recognised post-graduate
qualification in archives or equivalent. An interest in
architecture/architects papers would be an advantage.
