I agree Jane but that's why WorkPlace Health Connect was introduced via
the HSE - its a route for smaller companies to access information about
how they do RTW via a risk assessment process and will give them sources
of local OH providers in their area should they need further support or
input.
Also providing a national OH service somehow in conjunction with GP
surgeries is something that is being considered

Kind regards
Gail

You are right, of course. But we must also acknowledge that not all
companies have easy access to OH advisors, and so this makes their
management decisions about phased returns/restricted duties more
difficult.

In the same mind - If Med 3 were completed as advised by DWP they wouldnt
have to spend so much money resigning the form itself and then could spend
the money on educating GP's and companies about OH provision, give the GP
the tools to utilise OH -
I am busy sounding off to the OH press and the BBC - isnt this an ideal
opportunity to highlight OH to the general public - come on - spend 15
minutes today! we all moan that people dont understand our role - maybe
this time because of the media attention (provided nothing major happens
and it gets knocked off the headlines!) we would have more luck with
getting the attention we keep moaning we want!

Kind regards
Gail

Listened to radio 4 and was incensed when 'some bloke' said that
business's
in general either want employees backat work or still off unfit - not my
experiences - as far as i know most practitioners are busting a gut to get
the GP's to accept return on modified duties!

If anyone was watching the feature on BBC Breakfast programme this morning
about sick notes, I hope you were as incensed I was was!!
No mention of Specialist Practitioners or Advisors, and all the hard work
that goes on to rehabilitate employees, often DESPITE their GP!
I hope you will inundate the BBC website with comments!!!
