The Bolithos were very well known in the tin industry in West Cornwall. There are several collections relating to their activities at Cornwall Record Office, you may be able to view relevant catalogues through the Cornwall Record Office website or A2A. However I do not recall seeing anything relating to bauxite.

My g gf Willliam Bolitho is shown in mid 19th century directories as a "tin
& bauxite smelter". He was a partner in the Chyandour tin smelter. I would
be grateful if anyone knows where the bauxite originated and give me any
references to the smelting process.
