A unique and exciting opportunity to help bring to life one of the world’s literary treasures has arisen from the National Library of Scotland's acquisition of the John Murray Archive <http://www.nls.uk/jma/index.html> (1768-1920). The archive comprises over 150,000 items, featuring some of the greatest writers of the 19th century. We are looking for someone who can bring this literary treasure to life online for 21st century users. You will plan and deliver a wide range of innovative and accessible web-based learning resources, interpretation and access initiatives, based on the John Murray Archive and the Library's wider collections, to diverse online audiences. A creative and flexible approach to learning, knowledge of best practice in and experience of developing resources using learning technologies are all essential. You will take a lead on the development of content for web features and e-learning applications designed to provide access to material digitised from the John Murray Archive. You will be an innovative problem-solver, with a proven ability to create content that meets defined quality and access standards. It is essential that you have an understanding of the principles of web usability and accessibility and knowledge of the current educational sector.
