Hi, We do similarly, except that if we take the new format we would do a new record for it, whether or not the online title is the same. In this case we would add a 785 + 580 note to the print record saying "From 2007 issued online only as: XpertHR". The Conser manual, Module 31 at 31.16.1 gives a bit of guidance. This title is unusual in that it has morphed from a serial run of successive issues into a database, so the new record, if one is done, would be for an integrating resource. But if you don't choose to have separate records for online titles, then yes, you would have to add a phrase to the 580 note, saying it is available via the Library's website, Gill -----Original Message----- From: Bibliographic standards in UK libraries [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Diane Tough Sent: 05 February 2008 11:59 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Title change/Journal becoming electronic only Hi At the Natural History Museum - when a journal changes title we create a new record for the new title, but use the MARC fields 780 (former title) & 785 (continued title)to link the different titles. If it changes to electronic only then the new record reflects this and we would probably add a note on the old record that the new title became electronic on such and such a date. If the title didn't change, just the format, then we would put a note in the record along the lines of "From 1996 only available online" Diane -----Original Message----- From: Bibliographic standards in UK libraries [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of HARDWICK, Ruth Sent: 05 February 2008 11:26 To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Title change/Journal becoming electronic only I would be very grateful if someone could offer some advice on this: We subscribe to a journal which has recently changed its title from IRS Employment Review to XpertHR, and at the same time become online only. We offer a number of electronic journals on our Intranet page, but these are not included on the Library catalogue except, as in this case, where we take a hard copy of the journal as well. My problem is that if I close the catalogue record (as the paper issues have stopped coming) and change the title, it looks as if the journal has ceased publication all together. Should I just close the record for the hard copies, and put in a note to say that it is held on our website under a different title?
