Dear all,

Innovative later drew our attention to the following part of the manual:

The Millennium Manual page 105116 details the settings you need to
correctly send multi-location orders - specifically, you need to set the
GIR CODE field in the Vendor record to the correct value:

1. Enter one of the following values in the GIR CODE field to
specify which information is included in the GIR segment of the order.

Value

Data Sent

Comments

0

no GIR

(default)

1

GIR, no address

Used to send location and fund details for each copy in a multi-copy
order

2

GIR with address

Used to send multiple SEND-TO addresses if the library wants to receive
copies from a single order at multiple locations.

3

GIR with call number, no address

Used to send the call number to facilitate ordering materials that are
shelf-ready upon receipt.

4

GIR with call number and address

Used to send both the call number and multiple SEND-TO addresses.

so with the GIR set to '1' multi-location orders should transmit
correctly, if this does not work for you, then please get a call open
with Help Desk to investigate!

We're currently testing this with our suppliers...

Catherine, Beverley,

We use the 'VEN NOTE' field to transmit our required shelf mark (if
necessary) and for each location of a multi order. We put the number of
copies in brackets after each separate location. Not ideal I know but
seems to work fine with all vendors.

Regards,

Simon

Catherine, we send separate orders for each location with EDI orders, as
we found our suppliers weren't getting the correct information, and
didn't have time to explore it fully...

If you do hear of a work round, I'd be interested if you could pass it
on,

We seem to be having problems with the location 'multi' not transmitting
as separate GIR lines to Dawsons indicating the number of copies for
each location. Is this a general problem or is it just something here?

Thanks

Catherine
