GIS Developer Required

Purpose of the Role:

The GIS developer is a member of the Technical Delivery Team creating and 
customizing ESRI based GIS applications. 

Responsibilities:

•	Produce code to agreed guidelines
•	Maintain code as directed
•	Contribute to code design
•	Implementation of software at customer sites
•	Provide second line support to technical customers
•	Maintain technical knowledge
•	Adhere to project timelines and budgets
•	Report to the Technical Delivery Team Leader and Lead Developer	
Skills and Experience:

Essential:
•	ArcObjects development v9.x.
•	.NET language preferably C# or VB
•	ArcGIS Server Technologies (ArcSDE, ArcIMS & ArcGIS Server)
•	ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS Desktop implementation
•	Oracle/MS SQL Server
•	Basic knowledge of geographic principles 
•	Understanding of Object Oriented Design techniques
•	Ability to work in a team environment
•	DV Security clearance (or willingness to achieve clearance)



Desirable:
•	Knowledge of Java, Javascript, XML, Visual Basic, HTML
•	Knowledge of OGC standards
•	Knowledge of UML
•	Experience of medium to large scale software development projects
•	Experience of UK Defence market
•	Excellent verbal and written communications skills
•	Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Other:

•	This role is based in my clients Herefordshire office but there is 
a requirement to travel within the UK.
