Dear all, Please see below an email from Andrew Farmer at Band & Brown, the PR agency associated with the LOtC Manifesto. With school holidays and Easter not far away, we are keen to publicise as widely as possible learning events and activities across the heritage sector in England. The Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto encourages learning out of term-time too and there is a great deal going on in the heritage sector for youth clubs, families and carers, special interest groups etc that can help facilitate that learning as well as provide fun and entertainment over the break. If you know of or are involved in any events, please let me and Andrew Farmer ([log in to unmask]) know. If you have any queries, please do give me a call. Many thanks Kind regards, Fenella Fenella Hunt Heritage Coordinator Learning Outside the Classroom GEM Office 131 Trafalgar Street Gillingham Kent ME7 4RP Tel/Fax: 01634 853424 Mob: 07950 325 603 [log in to unmask] www.gem.org.uk ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Andrew Farmer <[log in to unmask]> To: [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask]; [log in to unmask] Cc: LOTC Team <[log in to unmask]>; [log in to unmask] Sent: Friday, 15 February, 2008 11:03:40 AM Subject: LOtC - Easter Press Activity Dear all, I hope you are all well. We are currently gathering material for an Easter press release to the regions and we would like your assistance. We want to encourage parents to help their children learn outside the classroom during the Easter break. To do this we want to compile a list for each city and region of the top ten places parents can go during the holidays with their children to undertake LOtC. In particular, if you know of venues that are running new projects specifically for the Easter period please let us know. Please send us details of any projects, venues, events, locations, special days etc. that you think might fit the bill. They can be in any LOtC sector and might come in the form of a wildlife sanctuary, a historic site, a museum, gallery, farm or outdoor adventure location, for example. We want anything anywhere that children can get involved in this Easter that is in any way relevant to LOtC. Please forward this email to all relevant people and organisations in your sector that you think might be able to help. As you will see from the list below, we have a lot of areas we are trying to hit! The deadlines are quite tight, so please let us have all suggestions by Friday 22 February. Apologies for the short turn-around time on this. Ideally, we want to target both regions and cities throughout England. The regions we want to cover are: South West South East London East Midlands West Midlands North West North East East Anglia Yorkshire The cities we want to cover are: Bristol Liverpool Manchester Newcastle Leeds/Bradford Sheffield/Rotherham/Chesterfield Birmingham/Black Country Nottingham Coventry Exeter Plymouth York Hull Norwich Cambridge Oxford Cheltenham Reading Ipswich Derby Bedford Luton Milton Keynes Northampton Lincoln Peterborough Swindon Southampton Brighton Blackpool If you have any information that could help us with this, please send it through to me as soon as possible. If you have any queries, please contact me on 020 7419 7317.
