Disability Services
The
You
will join a team of two Disability Advisers, one Dyslexia Adviser, two Dyslexia
Study Skills Tutors, two administrators and the Disability Services Manager. We
also have ten additional Disability Tutors and a designated Disability Officer
in each of four libraries.
You will need excellent
verbal and written communication skills, and be able to work with people from a
wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and expectations, demonstrating a
commitment to equality of opportunity. You will also need to be able to
maintain accurate case notes and student records.
You will be qualified at degree level with a post-graduate
qualification in specific learning difficulties or equivalent, and at least two
years experience of advising students with learning difficulties in a higher
education setting. You will have an understanding of the nature of dyslexia and
at least two years experience of administering screening tests. You should also
have an up-to-date knowledge of the Disability Discrimination Act and its
implications for students in higher education.
This
is a 12 week temporary position in the first instant.
