CALL FOR PAPERS: The Society for Textual Scholarship at the Modern
Language Association Conference

EDITING SPACES IN THE KNOWN AND UMKNOWN WORLDS: from the Garden to the
Black Hole

The Session Chairs invite submissions for individual papers devoted to
the discussion of the theory and/or practice of editing spaces, objects,
landscapes, fields (terrestrial or extra-terrestial), gardens, or
environments in either a local or broad sense. Papers are invited from
any academic subject area, including the humanities, the performing
arts, the social sciences, the natural sciences, and the formal
sciences. Paper proposals emphasizing interdisciplinary and
transdisciplinary approaches are encouraged. Paper proposals from
graduate students are welcome.

Paper proposals must be submitted by March 1, 2008. Individual proposals
should include a brief abstract (one or two pages) of the proposed paper
as well as the name, e-mail address, and institutional affiliation of
the participant. Abstracts should indicate what (if any) technological
support will be requested. Papers should be no more than 20 minutes in
length.
